About Greensburg, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Greensburg, Indiana is a small Midwestern town in Decatur County. With a population of just under 12,000, the town is small without being too small and is convenient to both Indianapolis and Cincinnati. All around town are stately brick buildings and beautiful landscapes.  Greensburg is a great place to check out at any time of year.  If you visit in the spring, the flowers will be in bloom and the blue skies will stand in beautiful contrast to the lush greenery. In the winter, you will find snow and icicles atop all of the gorgeous historical buildings.

The town is known not just for its lovely seasonal weather and small town atmosphere but also for its history.  As with many towns in this area, Greenburg is part of the land that made up the New Purchase in 1819. In 1821, Decatur County was established and the next year Greensburg was named the county seat.  The town took its name from one of the founders’ wives hometown in Pennsylvania.  Perhaps the most unusual thing about Greensburg is the tree grove growing atop the courthouse tower. 110 feet above the lawn level of the courthouse, these trees have mysteriously grown since the 1870’s.

In every season and in all weather, the town and its neighboring cities are alive with community spirit and a family friendly atmosphere. Each October, as the weather cools and the leaves begin to fall, nearby Greenfield holds the Riley Festival. The festival is celebrated to commemorate James Whitcomb Riley, a renowned poet born and raised in the town.  There is a statue erected in his honor in the center of town where schoolchildren lay flowers at the end of the festival’s parade each year. The Fairland Fish Fry Festival is held annually in Fairland. The tiny town of only about 300 people really shows its love for its community with music, food and more. Nearby Columbus is always bustling with excitement. There are many fun events to attend year-round. The warm springs and summers in Indiana create the perfect atmosphere for 5K’s, biking, Spring Break Bounce House fun and more. In the winter, the kids (and adults) will have a great time at the indoor gymnastics center or the ice arena which both also offer lessons and classes.
